Kurtosh Pagoda is a warm and inviting pastry café in Nugegoda, where IJ Interiors transformed a compact 620 sq. ft. space into an elegant and spacious experience. Thoughtfully selected materials, soft colours, and open-plan flow create a cozy yet upscale atmosphere that lets the delights take centre stage.
The Kurtosh Pagoda café reflects IJ Interiors’ ability to transform compact spaces into welcoming and elegant environments. Through warm materials, thoughtful lighting, and minimal detailing, the design creates a calm retreat that enhances both the brand experience and the simple joy of enjoying freshly made pastries.

A Cozy Escape from Urban Life
A warm material palette is used to transport customers from the urban grit of Colombo into this cozy pastry shop designed by IJ Interiors. Kurtosh, located in Pagoda road, Nugegoda. IJ Interiors had this opportunity to transform a small shop space of 620 sqft into an elegant spacious pastry shop kitchen was designed and directed by Isuru.
Warm Tones, Elegant Simplicity
Chocolate brown ceiling and walls where the seating is arranged casually consisting of little square coffee tables with a natural marble top gives relaxed feeling to the interior. An injection of colour comes from the beautiful soft pastel colour of the chairs. The black, pendant lamps with a gold inward that hang above the counter and the seating area in between the spots are an added value to the unified feel of the ambiance

Pastries, cakes and all other Kurtosh goodies are flaunted in glass displays at the reception where the counter tops are made of natural marble. Counter frames are the works of Amano sheets. Reclaimed wooden boxed racks behind the counter provides a graceful display counter for the breads and what nots, while steel-frames in the shelving adds a bit of a rustic look and blends the whole look into a cozy but an upscale feel.
