Luxury Defined Through Simplicity
“It was a leap of faith for me when I said yes and accepted the request to design the Azarya – Luxury clothing boutique located at the Arcade Independence Square. It was an empty space that had to be converted into a host of a luxury clothing line” says Isuru Jayathilake.
Majestic is the looks and the sound of “Azarya” and the pieces of clothing this brand presented is equally privileged and so the space that will accommodate this brand and its unique products had to look magnificent and equally top notched.
Where Space Complements Style
“I planned the “Azarya” space in such a way that it would appear regal and grandeur so the space, the setting, the brand and the products would complement each other, which will sequentially offer a sense of harmony together with a feeling of balance and peacefulness to the customer when entering in to this boutique space”. The colour palette used to turn this empty space into a grandeur boutique is quite a contrast from the earthly shades that he usually uses. He has opted for Gold painted steel to compliment the clothing carriers, equally toned wall paper and tasteful light fittings in Gold to name a few highlights of the design direction.
Another difference to his usual design projects we see here at Azarya is that, he has left a lot of space for the clothing / the brand itself to do the charm rather than filling it with details and decorative pieces. Simple and minimal decorations with meticulously thought-out colour palette has worked all its magic in turning this Boutiques space into a very regal and grandeur hall of art.
